I've had great luck asking those suppliers for "paid product samples".  I dealt with a company that only sold in 2000 lot minimums, but they were more than willing to send me 5 samples if I paid for them, with shipping.

We are now working on low frequency Support for RFDump, withe a nice GTK
Integrations. Does anyone where RFID 125kHz Q5 and HiTag2 Tags are
available in the US on small quantities ? A bay area shop would be the
best, i found supplier with minimum 2000  chips, but we need only 20-30
each :-)
