Hello Ms. King:
If you use a Scanner (reader), the computer automatically sees this as an input device. So, if you were in Excel and a cell is clicked on, reading a barcode will give you the decoded results automatically in that cell. Simple as that. Plugging into a USB, XP sees this an input device, like a keyboard (for instance).

Here is a link at our website for scanners or input devices:

Please let me know if you need any additional help,

Apologies if anyone gets this twice - I'm not sure this went through.

    Subject: USB readers and RFDump

Hi - has anyone had any success getting RFDump to work with a USB reader? I am considering purchasing an ACG USB-based reader, and am wondering if there are any issues getting RFDump to see a USB port vs. a serial port. (I will be running the RFDump VMWare image on a Windows XP machine). I am not particularly well versed with ports on either Windows or Linux, so any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Jen King
