There is a nice book out RFID Handbook from Klaus Finkenzeller, this
should help you on this topic.

Jeep, it work and all is documented, but sometimes you need to get a
working firmware, and fix the parameter.
The complexity makes it sometime for the user to a nightmare to bring
the reader module back to work with RFDump.
Of course you have the source, and any new 3rd party reader with doc
that works with it is welcome ,-)

No way, you can buy modules for 50€ - 80€ but this modules have a RS 484
Interface and no antenna and need an amplifier as well an external port
supply.
The nice think of the ACG modules is, pretty easy to use, ASCII Protocol
and not BIT NIBBLEING, integrated antenna and power from the USB / CF Port.
We don´t wont to waste time with a support nightmare, if you don´t use a
reader from us, no support from this list, but your patch is welcome as
well ;-)
