I have tried to read a HID card but nothing/errors come up. Am I doing something wrong? I recently found this article: http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/02/26/HNblackhatrfid_1.html so I know its now possible. Is it something that could be incorporated into RFID dump? I have a spare card if you need a sample for analysis. Thank you. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We talked about rfid and security, and she inspired me to buy a rfid card reader/writer. She told me there are some reader available for about 150 ?. I am a student so I don't want to buy one of yours, because thats much money for me; additionally I have some questions: I do know that the cards I want to read/write are some wich have 13.56 MHz, but I don't know the difference between ISO 15693 and 14443. If there is an important difference, please tell me! You're FAQ are telling me: You will find a list of working reader incl. the working reader firmware, as well the configuration of the reader parameter to use it with RFDump. Does that mean: If I would NOT buy a reader from your list, I will have to change the firmware and/or configure it in order to make it work with rfdump? Furthermore: Of course you want to sell some stuff, but is it really a torture to do it by myself? My time is neat, so I would prefer to pay 217 ? instead of 150 ? and saving a few weeks of my life. So, to come to an end: Pleeease tell me a card reader/writer wich is a) not very expensive (more than 200 ?) b) achievable over ebay germany or an internet pc seller. c) easy to run with rfdump and some writing tools (Meike told me, rfdump does only read out rfid cards but does not write on them). d) USB support would be nice to run it with my laptop. This is not supported, the CF Card is a PCMCIA / CardBus Card and you can not run it with a flashreader, you need a PCMCIA Yenta Socket. The socket is a sort or PCI card, this protocol is not supported via converter. > I understand that this is most likely due to my CF to USB convertor, > but I was wondering if anyone had any experience using these CF cards > on PC's. Not seen not checked .-) Just feel free and send us a sample it is a ISO 14443 Card, isn?t it ? > > Thank you. -- Gruss Lukas Grunwald aka REG lg1 From l.grunwald at dn-systems.de Wed Mar 7 09:41:33 2007 From: l.grunwald at dn-systems.de (Lukas Grunwald) Date: Wed Mar 7 11:12:45 2007 Subject: [Rfdump] Some questions about a reader/writer In-Reply-To: <45EC866D.2040603@julianmoritz.de> References: <45EC866D.2040603@julianmoritz.de> Message-ID: <45EE88CD.1040808@dn-systems.de> Hi, Julian Moritz wrote: > Hello there, > > I do know that the cards I want to read/write are some wich have 13.56 > MHz, but I don't know the difference between ISO 15693 and 14443. There is a nice book out RFID Handbook from Klaus Finkenzeller, this should help you on this topic. > You're FAQ are telling me: > > > You will find a list of working reader incl. the working reader > firmware, as well the configuration of the reader parameter to use it > with RFDump. > > > Does that mean: If I would NOT buy a reader from your list, I will > have to change the firmware and/or configure it in order to make it > work with rfdump? Jeep, it work and all is documented, but sometimes you need to get a working firmware, and fix the parameter. The complexity makes it sometime for the user to a nightmare to bring the reader module back to work with RFDump. Of course you have the source, and any new 3rd party reader with doc that works with it is welcome ,-) > So, to come to an end: Pleeease tell me a card reader/writer wich is > > a) not very expensive (more than 200 ?) > b) achievable over ebay germany or an internet pc seller. > c) easy to run with rfdump and some writing tools (Meike told me, > rfdump does only read out rfid cards but does not write on them). > d) USB support would be nice to run it with my laptop. No way, you can buy modules for 50? - 80? but this modules have a RS 484 Interface and no antenna and need an amplifier as well an external port supply. The nice think of the ACG modules is, pretty easy to use, ASCII Protocol and not BIT NIBBLEING, integrated antenna and power from the USB / CF Port. We don?t wont to waste time with a support nightmare, if you don?t use a reader from us, no support from this list, but your patch is welcome as well ;-) > > Thanks for your time and kind regards > Julian -- Gruss Lukas Grunwald aka REG lg1 From l.grunwald at dn-systems.de Tue Mar 13 17:35:28 2007 From: l.grunwald at dn-systems.de (Lukas Grunwald) Date: Tue Mar 13 20:02:08 2007 Subject: [Rfdump] RFDump @ CeBIT 2007 In-Reply-To: <45EE88CD.1040808@dn-systems.de> References: <45EC866D.2040603@julianmoritz.de> <45EE88CD.1040808@dn-systems.de> Message-ID: <45F6E0E0.706@dn-systems.de> Hi, I am on the way to Hannover, if someone is interested to hear my talk @heise, here is the link: http://www.ix-konferenz.de/programm.php?konferenzid=17&st=Programm The slides will be in English, the talk in German ,-] Looking forward to see you guys if you are at the CeBIT. -- Regards Lukas From Dennis.Elliott at ngc.com Wed Mar 14 10:04:54 2007 From: Dennis.Elliott at ngc.com (Elliott, Dennis J.)
